Chaki Meikei Hen - Book of Famous Tea Ceremony Ware by Tominaga Nangai
[Japan] Very nice matching pair of woodblock printed books filled with colour illustrations of famous tea ceremony cups and other related vessels. Tominaga Nangai (c1775-1854) was a retainer of the Ishikawa clan and a senior councillor of the Nagoya Domain in Owari province. He studied under Kijima (Togashi) Hirokage and was apparently well-versed in waka poetry, the tea ceremony, and painting.
