Kacho Gafu Woodblock printed book of birds and flowers
[Japan] Very nice colour woodblock printed book of flowers and birds known as a kacho-ga in Japanese. Interestingly, the original paper sleeve has been bound with the book (probably by an early owner of the book). The sleeve states that this is a new carving of the Genji era (1864-1865) but the preface is dated 1892 so this is a Meiji era edition. Artist unidentified.

In very good condition. Sleeve is worn, curled and has age wear and marks. Book itself is very good with only some very minor damage at lower left corner. b38052049
