Photo Album of the Osaka Iron Works containing 60 collotype photos

[Japan] Very scarce album with 60 collotype photos showing the various factories and ships built by the Osaka Iron Works which was founded by Irishman, Edward Hazlett Hunter (1843-1917) in 1881 and later became the foundation of Hitachi Zosen, one of Japan's largest shipbuilding companies. This publication appears to be unrecorded and the most recent date mentioned in the preface is 1908. Each photo is caption in English and Japanese and is bound in contemporary, decorative Japanese silk-covered boards with red silk string ties. The collotype photos are of very high quality.

[Osaka] [Osaka Ironworks] [No date but c1909].

60pp of photos plus preface and list of factories. 22.6 x 28.8cm.

In very good condition. Covers with minor age wear. String ties stretched near end of book so boards are a little loose. Internally very good. In modern folding case. p38042047
