Optical Lantern Readings - Japan and the Japanese by the Rev. A.B. Hutchinson, C.M.S.
[Japan] Scarce booklet that lists and describes 60 glass lantern slides of various scenes in Japan. The booklet was for use during slide shows with a narrator who would read the descriptions as the slides appeared on screen. Rev. Arthur Blockley Hutchinson (1841-1919) first arrived as a missionary in Hong Kong in 1871 and from around 1882 spent most of his time in Japan until his death in Karuizawa in 1919.
