Woodblock print of British man at dinner with Chinese and Siamese servants by Sadahide Gountei
[Japan] Very interesting woodblock print showing an Englishman appearing to reject a Chinese (Nanking) servant's offer of more alcohol. The other man is described as Siamese but the first two characters usually refer to someone with an Indian background. The food and cutlery are Western and this is an early depiction of an Englishman's life in Yokohama.
