








International Mustache Club - Fukiya Hotel, Miyanoshita, Japan Presented to Yuji Takanami with photos of all current members
[Japan] Wonderful piece of ephemera that was presented to Major-General Yuji Takanami to confirm that he had qualified as a member of the International Mustache Club. A tipped in photo of Takanami faces the decorative, certification page. A total of 30 photos of current members from Japan and overseas are present and include a second photo of Takanami at the end, indicating he was the newest member. According to the Fujiya Hotel, the manager of the hotel, Shōzō Yamaguchi founded the International Moustache Club in 1931 as a means of international exchange and at its peak had 43 members from 10 countries registered. Membership required a mustache of at least 2 inches (approximately 5 centimeters) in length.
