[Japan] Cabinet Card photo of Erwin Oldenburg who, according to the Meiji Portraits website was: 'a native of Luebeck, came in 1895 to Japan and started to work for Delacamp & Co., Insurance Agency, at Kobe #121. He worked for this company until 1898. The following year, he is not listed in Japan. He was most likely on home leave to get married because from 1900 on, his wife is also recorded with him in Japan. Oldenburg is now listed as a broker in partnership with Fritz Scheidt, who previously worked as a Public Silk Inspector in Kobe. They operated under Oldenburg & Scheidt, Bill and Bullion Broker, at Kobe #21. This partnership was very stable and was still going as of 1908, at the same location.'
