Medium Format Photo of Part of the Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery Attributed to Michael Moser
[Japan] Important photo showing part of the Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery. This particular photo appeared in the August 16, 1871 edition of The Far East under the title, 'Military Cemetery, Yokohama'. Sadly, a number of British soldiers, their spouses and children who were based in Yokohama died due to disease and, in some cases, heat exhaustion. We can also see temporary markers of those who had recently died.

In very good condition. Mounted on thin card and titled 'Cemetery Yokohama' on mount. Minor wear at edges. p37101984
