









Woodblock printed Map of Tsukiji, Teppozu and the Foreign Quarter Very scarce map with original sleeve
[Japan] Early, woodblock printed map of the Tsukiji area of Tokyo showing the small foreign enclave that was established there in 1868 as well as the recently built and short-lived Tsukiji Hotel that burned down in 1872. The foreign area shows the location of 22 lots numbered in Japanaese and Roman numerals from 1 to 22. Titled in Japanese, 'Tokyo, Tsukiji, Teppozu Iryuchi Ezu'. The artwork was by Yamada Yosai aka Utagawa Kuniteru II (1803-74).
