Albumen print photo of Enoshima from Shichirigahama early image from group of photos used in The Far East journal
[Japan] Very early photo showing this view of Enoshima most likely taken from the beach of Shichirigahama. This photo was apparently in an album of contemporary views and a number of them can be found in early editions (1870-1874) of John Reddie Black's important journal, 'The Far East'.
Photographer unidentified but probably Michael Moser. 10.4 x 17.5cm. c1872.
In good condition. Unmounted. A few minor marks. The two diagonal lines visible appear to be in the negative.
