Shinagawa by Kawase Hasui One of Hasui's most impressive woodblock prints
[Japan] Titled 'Shinagawa' this is one of the best impressions of this print that we have seen. The light rain, shades of blue and reflections in the water come together to contribute to this masterpiece. First published in 1931, this one was most likely printed during Hasui's lifetime between 1946 and 1957. Small 6mm Watanabe seal at lower right. Hasui's red seal at lower left as issued.

In very good condition. Colours are bold and bright. Pinprick-sized hole at upper left margin. Remnants of adhesive around margin on rear indicated the print was most likely framed previously. Otherwise very good. Unbacked with nice bleedthrough. u37081936
