Woodblock Print of Carp by Ono Bakufu Superb, detailed work
[Japan] Ono Bakufu (1888-1976) produced some very nice woodblocks prints including a series of illustrations of fish. This woodblock print of a carp is especially impressive. Although 'first edition' is printed in the right margin, this is most likely a later work. The block carver is shown as Kikuta and the printer (surishi) as Chikushinsai.

In good condition. Wear and toning at edges. Mount darkened at edges. Print is attached at top corners but could be removed with care. Nice bleedthrough on rear. u37081934
