Hanging scroll of Japanese Ghost Sinister-looking female apparition
[Japan] Hand drawn, painted illustration of a sinister-looking female ghost or yurei under a crescent moon. The red artist seal reads Shunrei which may be Otsuka Shunrei but we have been unable to find any other yurei works by that artist. An impressive work by a skilled artist.
Illustration measures 123 x 35cm mounted on larger scroll 187 x 47cm. Probably mid-late Meiji era (1870s-1900).
In very good condition. A couple of small holes at top of mount and minor chipping to edges. Illustration itself is very good. s37071925
