The Welcome Folio containing Maps of Japan by The Kihin Kai
[Japan] Large coloured folding map of Japan (and Taiwan) with inset maps of Hokkaido (Yezo) showing railways and principal roads. Under the main map, there are separate maps of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. On the rear there are advertisements for banks, hotels, shipping companies, and various shops. There is an introduction to The Welcome Society in English and French and this is the third edition of which 10,000 copies were apparently printed. The Welcome Society targeted affluent visitors to Japan and enabled such tourists to make connections whilst in the country. Shibusawa Eiichi was one of the prominent founders and the Society's head office was in The Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.
