Colloquial Japanese by Samuel Robbins Brown Conversational Sentences and Dialogues in English and Japanese
[Japan] One of the earliest Japanese language study books written by a Westerner. Samuel Robbins Brown, A.M. (1810-1880) was one of the first Westerners to live in Japan, arriving in November 1859 with fellow missionaries Guido Verbeck and Duane Simmons. There seem to have been a few editions of this book published in 1862 and 1863. Our copy appears to be the earlier 1862 edition.
