Illustrations and Descriptions of Products of The Paris World Exposition Exhibiter's Union Important reference showing the Japanese artworks exhibited
[Japan] Extra Issue No.2 of Fine Arts magazine. We find no reference to an Extra Issue No. 1 but presumably it was published. Very uncommon work showing in detail many of the Japanese works of art exhibited at the 1900 Paris Fair. From textiles to inkstones, display cabinets to bronzes, and ivory carvings to ceramics, this catalogue gives us a good look at what was sent by Japan to be displayed. Each plate has a tissue interleave with a description of each item in English, French, and Japanese. The book was priced at a whopping 8 yen which was a lot of money in 1900.
