Hanging Calendar with Greetings 1927 with four woodblock prints
[Japan] Large hanging calendar featuring four woodblock prints inserted into a decorative, padded back board. The four woodblock prints show scenes from Hiroshige's series '53 Scenes on the Tokaido', namely Hakone, Odawara, Oiso and Kawasaki. As this is the first time we have seen this particular calendar, we are unsure if there may have been more prints. The calendar appears to be a Hasegawa calendar in some ways but the small 'Calendar with Greetings' pad may indicate otherwise.
No place. Publisher unknown (Hasegawa?). Presumably late 1926 (for 1927).
