The Fountain of Youth Previously unknown, large format edition on plain paper
[Japan] An important discovery in the world of Hasegawa's Japanese fairy tales books. This edition of The Fountain of Youth, rendered into English by Lafcadio Hearn has a completely different front cover from the heretofore known edition (see final photo in listing for comparison). The rest of the book appears to be the same as the known edition. It is unknown why Hasegawa/Nishinomiya would have produced a new cover for a book that was also published on crepep paper as part of a set of five books. All editions of the five books on plain paper are scarce but this newly discovered edition can be considered to be the rarest found so far.
