Woodblock Print of Japan's Second National Industrial Exhibition by Inoue Yasuji
[Japan] Superb colour woodblock print showing various views of the Second National Industrial Exhibition held in Ueno Park, Tokyo from 1 March to 30 June 1881. Unlike the first exhibition of 1877, the second was based on categories of products rather than prefectures in order to encourage competition between the various exhibitors. Inoue Yasuji (1864-1889) was Kobayashi Kiyochika's star pupil, but died of beriberi at 25 years old.
