Large Format of Yanagibashi and the Sumida River in Tokyo Very scarce photo by Kusakabe Kimbei
[Japan] Superb photo by Kusakabe Kimbei (1841-1934) showing Yanagibashi [Yanagi Bashi (Bridge)] and part of the Sumida River in Tokyo. Two men stand on the bridge and the man on the left is slightly out of focus due to his movement when the photo was taken. The detail of the buildings is excellent and this is the first time we have seen this photo by Kimbei. Titled, '693 Yanagi Bashi & Sumida river, Tokio', at lower right in negative.
