Korin Moyo - 2 vol. set Published by Unsodo of Kyoto
[Japan] Complete, two-volume set of orihon (folding books) containing some of the most stunning Japanese designs produced in the Meiji Era by Furuya Korin (1875-1910). He described himself as a modern day Ogata Korin, hence the shared artist name. Each book contains 12 double-page woodblock prints with extra colour added by Korin. The use of silver and gold i especially striking and impressive. Sadly, Furuya Korin died at just 35 after collapsing in the middle of a street. Published while Korin was alive, his designs speak for themselves. Complete in two volumes.
