Commemorative Photo Album of Dai Nippon Breweries Forerunner of Sapporo and Asahi Beer brands
[Japan] Large, soft cover, silk string bound album with decorative covers in original folding case published to commemorate an Imperial visit. The Meiji emperor passed away the following year. The photos appear to be collotypes and show the processes involved in brewing beer and the buildings and factories owned by the Dai Nippon Brewery. After WWII (in 1949), the company was split so that Asahi Breweries and Sapporo Breweries were created. Marked not for sale on colophon page. Each photo has a tissue interleave with description printed on it.
