Japanese Crepe Traveling Case with 17 samples of toilet paper

[Japan] Folding paper case with two pockets containing samples of Japanese crepe toilet paper which is apparently, 'sterilized, antiseptic, non-irritant' and is the, 'softest and most absorbent paper obtainable'. The folder advertises three different types of crepe paper: the Toyama perforated roll, the Springfield Oval, and the Otsu wire hook flat package. Presumably the samples present (9 folded sheets in the left pocket and 8 in the right pocket) are the Otsu flat package type but they are of slightly different textures. It is unknown how many sheets are supposed to be in the sample folder. The folder was made by the Morgan Envelope Co. Div. Springfield, Mass.

[USA but presumably the samples were produced in Japan]. ND (c1910).

Case measures 15.3 x 8.5cm when closed. Folded samples measure 13.5 x 12.2cm and 14.3 x 13.2cm).

In good condition. Case with wear and some stains and marks. Paper samples all fine. nb36040008
