Buddhism in Japan by E.M. Satow Typed manuscript with notes
[Japan] Unrecorded and presumably unpublished work titled, 'Buddhism in Japan' by Ernest M. Satow (1843-1929). This manuscript was owned by Frederick W. Gookin (1853-1936) of Chicago, the noted Japanese art collector and critic. The handwritten notes appear to be written by him. It is unknown how the manuscript ended up in Gookin's hands nor whether Gookin and Satow were acquainted.
