Tourist Magazine with Important Illustrated Article on Kawase Hasui Japan Tourist Bureau

[Japan] Scarce issue of 'Tourist' containing interesting articles in English and a few in Japanese. The contemporary, illustrated article about woodblock print artist Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) and the main publisher of his woodblock prints, Watanabe Shōzaburō (1885-1962) is especially important. The article mentions, 'At present, approximately 200,000 prints are exported yearly, representing about 90 per cent of the total production. It is noteworthy that 80 per cent of the prints exported go to the United States.' Other articles are about Shikoku, calligraphy, Mt. Fuji, and cherry blossoms.
