Stunning Manuscript of Irises Twenty-two stunning, large illustrations
[Japan] Superb manuscript containing 22 hand-drawn and coloured varieties of Japanese irises. The green leaves appear to be partially woodblock printed and coloured. The flowers themselves are all hand-drawn and coloured. Numbered and titled in romaji (and translated into English in the same hand), it would appear there were originally 48 illustrations. Bound in beautiful, decorative covers, this is an impressive work of art.
