Aristocratic Ladies of the Tokugawa Era by Toyohara (Yōshū) Chikanobu

[Japan] A very nice, woodblock printed triptych by Chikanobu (1838-1912) showing three aristocratic ladies in stunning kimono. A Japanese clock (wadokei) can be seen as well as what looks like a pet sulphur-crested cockatoo. The paper used for these prints also has very nice embossed circular patterns on it.

[Tokyo]. [1895].

Each panel approx. 35.5 x 23.6cm.

In very good condition. Left panel trimmed at left edge. Minor age wear and a few minor marks. Unbacked with nice bleedthrough. u35051416
