[Japan] Very scarce, large format, musical work with woodblock printed covers by Takejiro Hasegawa. Austrian Dittrich (1861-1919) first came to Japan with his wife in 1888 as the first Art Director of the Tokyo School of Music. In 1891 his wife died and he subsequently had a relationship with a Japanese shamisen performer and instructor named Mori Kiku, with whom he had a son out of wedlock named Otto Mori. He left Japan in August 1894.
