[Japan] Impressive manuscript book titled, 'Keizai [or Keibatsu] Dai Hiroku' ['Secret Record of Punishments for Criminals'], which explains the various punishments for various crimes, including the requisite tattoos given to criminals depending on the crime. Illustrated throughout with hand-drawn and coloured illustrations, this is a fascinating work. Copied in Ansei 2 (1855) as indicated on final leaf.
