Momotaro - Japanese Fairy Tale in French translated by Felix Evrard

[Japan] Les Contes Du Vieux Japon. 1ere Livraison Momotaro. Scarce, plain paper edition of Momotaro in French that was translated by Félix Évrard (1844-1919), and not Joseph Dautremer, who translated all subsequent fairy tales into French. Interestingly the cover page is not titled 'Momotaro', which may be a publishing error. Also, there is no mention of Hasegawa Takejiro, only Kobunsha, so presumably this is a very early edition.

Tokyo. Kobunsha. 1886.

13 leaves (including covers). 18.3 x 12.3cm.

In good condition. Minor wear to covers. Otherwise very good. b34111289
