Album with 8 Russo-Japanese War Paintings on Silk Important, dated album with messages from soldiers
[Japan] Lovely album containing eight hand coloured images on silk by an artist named Soho. The contents page lists the eight paintings under the title of 'Eight Victories at Port Arthur'. The final page has a number of messages in Japanese (along with a couple in English and one in German) written to the owner of the album, wishing him well. The Russo-Japanese War was from 1904-05. The first painting on silk has the date 1913 so presumably was done after the war. The messages would appear to be from the time of the war.
Album measures 36.7 x 26.7cm.
