Floral Japan by Flora Sweet The scarcest of Akiyama's large format crepe paper books
[Japan] A slightly smaller sized printing of this crepe paper book published by Akiyama. Flora Sweet was a made-up name created probably by Akiyama. Seldom appears on the market. A larger edition was also published (see final picture which shows the smaller version next to this larger edition). Such a lovely book. Printed by Sakai Torakichi.
Tokyo. Akiyama Aisaburo. 1896 (Japanese colophon states it was reprinted in 1896 so this may be a second printing done the same year as the first).

In good to very good condition with silk binding covers intact. Covers have some wear and creasing. Edges a bit irregular with the usual waviness. Internally very good. b34061214
