[Japan] Superb selection of 90 different woodblock printed designs of actual envelopes used to hold gift money. This first volume is titled 'Shu Shu' in Japanese and was followed by a second and third volume published the following year in 1925. Edited by the Hiroo Shoeido Ishokubu and sold by Sakuraiya in the Kansai area and by Kogeisha in the Kanto area. Each envelope measures 9 x 4cm.

31 leaves (fukurotoji pouch binding). 16.5 x 24.2cm.

 

Covers worn with some marks and minor damage. Front board is attached and holding by inner lining material, but is holding well. Internally good with marks to most pages and age wear throughout but all envelopes are unaffected. b34041158
