Dinner Invitation from Prince Higashi Fushimi during his stay in England

[Japan] Handwritten invitation that reads, 'Le prince Higashi Fushimi requests the pleasure of Mr. Jones's company at dinner on Tueday the 13th inst. at 7 o'clock; at Bath Arms Hotel. Feb 7th, 1872. Warminster.' Prince Higashi Fushimi (1846-1903) studied military tactics in the UK from 1870-72 and was later known as Prince Komatsu Akihito. The Bath Arms in Wiltshire, founded in 1736, is still in business today.

 

Single sheet. 18.2 x 11.5cm.

 

In very good condition with only minor age wear. Small '6' at top indicating the prince presumably invited a number of people to dinner whilst in Warminster. e30030097
