Natuurkundig Schoolboek - Dutch Language Study Book Early textbook on physics published in Japan
[Japan] Very nice example of a rangaku (Dutch study) text on physics. The book was copied from an 1828 edition by Johannes Buijs, who first wrote the book in 1809. This Japanese edition was compiled by Mitsukuri Shuhei (1826-86), using his pen name Gi Shinsai. The Japanese title is 'Kakuchi Mondo'. This is volume 2 only (of 2).
No place [probably Nagasaki]. No publisher. 1858.
pp, 101. 23.3 x 16.3cm.
In very good condition. Minor wear to covers and part of string binding loose but book is tight. A couple of very short worm trails affecting a very small area of a few pages. b33101053
