Manuscript Showing the Various Lanterns of Officials Hand-drawn and dated
[Japan] Fascinating manuscript that illustrates the different type of lantern used by government officials based on their rank. Some of the ranks listed include, robun, banto, bugyo, yonin, metsuke, and even the lanterns used by government doctors. The date December 1868 and the name Sudo (or Shudo) Magotaro are written inside the rear cover. Sudo may have written the manuscript or could have been the original owner of it.
