Hints to Tourists on Curio Buying by Deakin Bros. & Co.
[Japan] Scarce, interesting booklet that was given to clients of Deakin Bros. to help them avoid being swindled by unscrupulous curio dealers who may even invite customers to an evening with geisha in order to make a sale of items that may not be authentic! This particular edition appears to be from around 1892 as the last reference to a date is 1890 and the address of 38 Water Street is pasted over with a new address of Grand Hotel Annex, 16 Bund.
