The Parlor Magic by O. Kai & Co. Woodblock printed magic game

[Japan] Lovely, woodblock printed work that contains a magic trick that allows the magician to correctly guess what item someone else has selected. The booklet was made for O. Kai & Co. of Tokyo who, as mentioned inside the rear cover, were importers of Japanese goods and tea and had offices in San Francisco and St. Louis. Some variants of this booklet with different covers and titled, 'The Japanese Parlor Magic' have been seen.

[Tokyo?]. O. Kai & Co. ND (c1890).

12pp. 17.5 x 12.2cm.

In very good condition though fragile. Front cover a little chipped at binding strings and minor loss at top corner. Lower left corner of cover a little folded. 'The key is written this sheet', written neatly at top of title page. Internally very good.
