Illustrated Manuscript of How to Prepare Game Birds Secret Ogasawara-ryu Book
[Japan] Fascinating manuscript showing the ways to prepare game birds, fish, and what look like seals for display and consumption according to the way of the Ogasawara school of etiquette. Illustrated throughout with nicely-drawn images. The title appears to be, 'Jinseki Hiden'. The Ogasawara school , or Ogasawara-ryu, was founded in the 13th century and its way of etiquette is used by the Japanese Imperial Family today. The manuscript was copied by Ise Hyogo Sadanori and is dated Bunsei 12 (1829).

In very good condition. Covers with some wear and were probably added later. Internally very good with some minor stains at the beginning and a few stray marks.
