Very scarce Crepe Paper Christmas and New Year Greeting Card Custom made by Hasegawa Takejiro

Extremely scarce, unused greeting card almost certainly published by Hasegawa who used the same image in one of his crepe paper calendars (See July, 'A Summer Evening on the River Kamo', in Monthly Changes of Japanese Street Scenes - Calendar for 1906). Inside is a smaller, plain paper insert that contains the end of year greeting. On the rear of the insert, "Hills & Co. Ltd. London 'For the empire' Series", is printed. Between 'To' and 'From' on the left half of the insert, there is a small logo or symbol that we have been unable to identify so far. The left side of the crepe paper inside shows two Japanese cranes and the right page three of them flying. A purple tied string holds the insert in place.

Single crepe paper page with smaller insert. 14 x 10.1cm (when folded)

In fine condition with basically no wear. The crepe paper is crisp and clean.
