Woodblock Printed Book of China Ware by Aoki Mokubei (Robei) Published by Unsodo and Darumaya

Lovely, woodblock printed book bound orihon (accordion-style book) showing the work of the potter Aoki Mokubei (1767-1833). He used numerous other names but Robei was the one he used most. 'Ro' means 'deaf' and 'bei' is from Mokubei as apparently he became deaf from the noise and heat of working near his kiln. Edited and published by Kimura Sukejiro.

Kyoto, Unsodo. Osaka, Darumaya. 1921.

86pp. 26.4 x 18.1cm.

In very good condition. Some pages with minor age wear and marks. Original folding case faded at edges with minor wear inside and out. Overall very good. b32120804
