National System of Penmanship by Yoshida Tsunenori
[Japan]. Fascinating, woodblock printed folding book on how to write English and a quite unusual selection of example words for each letter of the English alphabet along with some interesting errors and misspellings. Yoshida (1844-1880), who died young, was a samurai of the Oshu Domain (now part of Saitama prefecture). The title in Japanese is, 'Yokomoji Unpitsu Jizai'. Uncommon size.
