Fugaku Hyakkei (One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji) Vol. 3 Superb work by Hokusai. Lovely impression.
[Japan]. One of the most famous and most impressive Japanese books ever published. Volumes 1 and 2 of Hokusai's masterpiece were first published in 1834 and 1835 respectively, with volume 3 published a few years later. Multiple editions were published and it is very difficult to know the order of later editions. This is volume 3 and was probably published in the early Meiji era (c1870s). Difficult to find in good condition and with such crisp impressions.
