CDV of Western Man in Nagasaki taken by H. Uyeno (Hikoma Ueno)
[Japan]. Early CDV of an unidentified, bearded Westerner. Part of the faint writing on the rear appears to read, 'Fr. du Neemu', indicating he may have been a pastor or missionary but this is unclear. One of the earlier CDVs by Ueno Hikoma (1838-1904), the well-known Japanese photographer.

In good condition except for chipping at the bottom of the mount with minor loss. The photo itself has some minor age wear.
