A Biographical Sketch of Rev. Nathan Brown, D.D. by Albert Arnold Bennett

Scarce booklet that was prepared for The Union Conference of Baptist Missionaries in Japan. Brown (1807-1886) was a well known Baptist minister who established the first Baptist church in Yokohama in 1873. A. A. Bennett (1849-1909) founded the Baptist Theological Seminary of Yokohama, which later became Kanto Gakuin University. The booklet also has a with compliments slip from John L[incoln] Dearing who was a president of the same seminary. Interestingly, the last page of the book states, 'The tough paper covering this pamphlet is part of some that Dr. Brown was using in his printing office shortly before his death'.
