Japanese Proverbs and Pictures Selected and edited by Frederick Starr
Nice example of what has become a difficult book to find in good condition. Covers are crepe paper and other pages are fine Japanese paper. The font used looks very similar to the original font Hasegawa Takejiro made for some of the books he published but there is no mention of Hasegawa. Made to look like it is bound fukurotoji (pocket) style but the pages are actually glued together at the edge as issued.
