Japan-British Exhibition Award given to Furuichi Kimitake Large lithograph diploma
Award presented to Furuichi Kimitake (also Koi) at the Japan-British Exhibition of 1910. Furuichi (1854-1934) was a civil engineer who helped build the port of Yokohama amongst many other engineering projects. He was also the first president of Koka Daigaku (later the engineering college of the University of Tokyo) and became a baron in 1919.
Large award mounted on heavy paper. 61.4 x 45.5cm.
In very good condition with only minor age wear.
