Complete Map of the Provinces of Japan Manuscript in 2 volumes

Highly detailed and well-executed manuscript of the work Kokugun Zenzu (国郡全図) which was written by Ichikawa Tokei and first published in Nagoya in 1828 . This pair probably done in the 1840s. This comprehensive atlas covers every province in Japan using the pre-Meiji names as they were then known by (Sagami, Echizen, Shinano, Mutsu etc).

Vol. 1 - 84pp. Vol. 2 - 70pp. Each 25.8 x 18.8cm.

 

In very good condition. Wear to covers and area of loss to one title slip. Minor stain affecting the edges of some pages in volume 1. General age wear but no worming.
