Fascinating manuscript showing the offerings made for 'gosekku' the five annual imperial court ceremonies traditionally held on January 1, March 3, May 5, July 7 and September 9. Also depicted are the screens that would be used to divide large rooms into areas for privacy.

 

No author/place. No date (c.1780-1820)

 

34pp. 30 x 20.4cm.

 

In very good condition. No worming. Covers with wear (rear cover with some loss to outer covering). Internally very good with only minor age wear, darkening to lower corners, and a few stray marks.
