Hand drawn Illustrated Album by Hikita Uryu Impressive album depicting characters from Japanese legends
Very little is known about Hikita Uryu who appears to have been active from around 1820-1840. His birth and death dates are unknown but he was apparently based in Kyoto, where this album was found. Each illustration is signed 'Uryu' and stamped. Includes depictions of the 7 Gods of Fortune and Urashima Taro.

30.7 x 16.5cm. 54 double page hand drawn and coloured diptychs.
In very good condition. Covers with wear. Internally a few stray marks. A few pages starting to separate near the end of the album. A few tiny worm holes affecting a few pages towards the end of the album.
